2-1B Medical Droids were a class of droid that were used the most during the Clone Wars and the Galactic Civil War. The droid was such an excellent doctor, the company that made them, The Industrial Automation, had the droid's buying price up to 4,300 credits. Medical droids were saw wide deployment by the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars to heal wounded clone troopers, Jedi, and republic officers. Two of these droids were used to rebuild Darth Vader after his body was almost destroyed in the aftermath of a duel between Vader and his old Jedi Master Obi-Wan-Kenobi on the lava planet of Mustafar. Another droid unit joined the Rebel Alliance during the Galactic Civil War and helped Jedi Knight, Luke Skywalker after his encounter with a wampa on hoth and helped the Jedi another time after he lost his arm to Vader.
